Common Charter Questions
What is included in the price of the charter?
The price includes everything you need for a complete fishing day. This includes the boat, the crew, the equipment/tackle, and fish cleaning. The only thing not included is any extra gratuity for the crew.
Do I need to tip and what is a normal tip for a trip?
While our crew is experienced and extremely hardworking, tipping is always voluntary and based off your experience on your trip. We typically see a 10-20% tip on most trips.
What should I expect in regards to any weather cancellations?
The captain will contact you a few days in advance to go over all the information of the trip. If the weather is looking unstable, the captain will go over all the options with you. Any weather cancellations are fully refundable.
What do you recommend for the trip to ensure no one gets sea sick?
Sea-sickness can ruin any trip and is unpredictable. We have found that taking otc. sea sickness medicine (Dramamine, Bonine), a full day before your trip, as well as the day of, greatly reduces chances of sea sickness. Scopolamine patches are also available to be prescribed through your physician and have great success.
Where does the boat pick us up?
Unless previously discussed with the captain, the boat picks everyone up at Fisherman’s Wharf in Port Aransas. The address is 900 Tarpon St, Port Aransas, TX 78373. All of the parking in front of the 2 wharf buildings are available to use.
